Pastor and First Lady Matthew & Edna Canada Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! 2011 promises to be an exceptional year for the ministry of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Our auxiliary ministries’ leadership have been challenged, charged and convinced that the work continues. Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “what must we do to do the works that God requires?”(John 6:28). He answered“...The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”(John 6:29). Our church theme for 2011 , “A Loving Church Living The Living Christ” brings into focus the essence of who we are and what we should be doing as believers of Christ. As we continue to be “The Church where Jesus is Victorious”, I’m requesting that our entire church membership, ministries and ministers help me to raise this banner high and lifted up so men of every birth may see. Just as Jesus conveyed to His disciples that “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me” (John 9:4), we too must remember and be determined to do these works. With renewed spirits and committed hearts, I am convinced that we can make a difference in the lives of those who are sinners, suffering and searching for a better way. We can make a difference in the lives of those saved, struggling and straining bound for the promised land. The work shall continue as we seek to be a Loving church with a Lifting cry unto the Living Christ. “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32) Amen, Pastor Matthew Canada
